Cronin - Twenty Five Years and Change - 25 Years of Drawing
As part of the commemorations of the 35th anniversary of Ar.Co and the 15th anniversary of the municipal exhibition centre Casa da Cerca, the Illustration department submits to the latter a project for a Brian Cronin retrospective. Cronin is a reference name in the area of press editorial illustration and his work has been abundantly published in major journals and magazines (Time, The New Yorker, The New York Times, The Boston Globe, The Washington Post, The Los Angeles Times, The London Times, Liberation, Rolling Stone, Marie Claire, Harpers, The Wall Street Journal, GQ, Cosmopolitan, Business Week, Outside, Audubon, Le Monde, The Atlantic Monthly, Esquire and Newsweek). The exhibition takes place at the Casa da Cerca between the 21st of June and the 31st of August 2008 and gathers 70 or so originals dating from the period 1983-2008. The catalogue includes an interview with Cronin, made expressly for the occasion and conducted by Fred Woodward.
